Roholoffator et première neige / first snow

Last thursay we had or first 15cm of snow of the year! Today it's all melted...

Here's the first images ofthe Roholoffator for Bromptons. The brake bosses are missing and I'm looking for the clearances of the componnents. It could change but not much.

Roues et panorama / Wheels and panorama

Last week O found time to build Bruno's wheels : Phil Wood hubs with velocity aeroheat 40 spokes. Good stuff!

I also did a stuntby the welding shop to take some time off with the family. The picture bellow is the view I have.

Headbadge

First off, Lorick is with us since August 27th. He and the mom are healty.

Here's what I'll do for my new headbadge style. I had a outline laser cutted in stainless steel 20 gage, I'll roll it and will make a vinly cuted mask to paint the logo the color I want. I added two eyelets for rivets or screws. What do you think?

Moins de temps / Less time

It's been a while. I have a lot of job with the two tandems and and the "Rohloffator". Moreover, we have to prepair the new baby arrival for the end of August. So the orders will be delayed to take care of the mom and the loved little thing.

Saturday, I found the time to get on a night ride with ET from 21 to 23h15. We went ot the Trois-Sommet area that have cool technicals trails with roots and rocks... that was cool! However I destroyed my five years old Vittoria shoes... I'll get the same thing since they are well made and my feet fit right in them.

The "Rohloffator" is a new rear triangle for Bromptons made to accept the Rohloff hubs. Not an half made thing. Something professionaly made with documentations.

Martensitic stainless steel from KVA (click to get to the page). Made in USA, looks like Reynolds 953 and Columbus XCR. Seems promising and will cost less than titanium.

Raid vélo mag, la petite histoire / Raid Velo Mag, the little story

L'an prochain en single speed?

Finaly, it was not as apocalyptical as I thought it would be. It rained quite much and the trails were soaked. We run trhough our brake pads with thirty kilometers to go and we had a lot of fun. We did not fell not did we hurt ourselves. Next year in single speed?

The Schwalbe Knoby Nic tires were great for these conditions, in fact they are great everywhere. Eric was on 2.1 tubeless and I was on 2.25 standard at 35 psi.

Since the price of raw material and shipping is going up since the last two years, I upped the frame prices

It's done, I enroled in the Raid Vélomag 2009! Just like last year I'll do it for fun only with E.T. and maybe Papa Golem if he can hold out rythm! Even with a less than perfect weather forecast, we got to keep the faith of a nice day. If you see me, come talk, I'll probably be the only one with a steel bike!Oh wait, Papa Golem have one too. Well, mine is burgundy.

J'ai écrasé un chien! / I run over a dog!

Sale clebs.

Wednesday July 1st, I was comming back slowly from the in-laws with my daughter in tow in the chariot when a dog began to come to us. A small dog, ugly and white. He did not look angry which surprised me. And surprised I was when he trew his self in front of me! I rode over him! Then he was angry! Luckly for us he was small and I rode away easly. Darn dogs.

On a better side, M. Poulin came to get his bike June 30th and Popo will come July 3rd. Monday I took most of my day taking real pictures. I'll post the shortly.
